Zcash Foundation — web design and development project by David Langarica

Website redesign for the Zcash Foundation nonprofit.

Full website redesign for the Zcash Foundation nonprofit. Built with WordPress and Figma by freelance web designer and developer David Langarica.

The challenge was not only visual. The site also needed to reflect the Foundation’s credibility, organize complex information more clearly, and create a more consistent experience across the organization’s public-facing content.

The challenge of scale

Designing for an organization like the Zcash Foundation was not just a visual challenge, but an information architecture challenge. The site needed to support developers, researchers, community members, donors, and the broader public, each with different goals, levels of technical knowledge, and expectations.

Design system first

A project of this scale required a clear design system from the start. Typography, color, spacing, and reusable components were defined early to create consistency across the site and make future expansion easier to manage.

Page types delivered

The project included the homepage, about, team, events hub, Zcon conference pages, Dev Summit pages, Zcon Voices, Arborist Calls, blog, grants, governance, and other supporting templates. Each page type was designed to meet its specific content needs while staying aligned with the broader visual system.

What was delivered

I delivered a complete website redesign for a large-scale blockchain nonprofit, including a consistent visual language, a clearer content structure, and a flexible set of templates that could support a wide range of organizational needs.

Reflection

This project reinforced how much design decisions compound at scale. Early choices around typography, spacing, and component structure directly affected the consistency and maintainability of every page that followed.
